2nd Shooter Media
2nd Shooter Media is a Chicago-based multimedia agency that provides a host of personal services and professional content creation. The idea originated in 2017, by long time colleagues and friends, Chep Woods and Osiris Johnson. They knew they wanted to take curating to another level. An inspiration came from being on the other end of the spectrum, a simple idea that gives the dynamic duo an advantage in curating. They are the client and the curator; a music artist needing marketing material for a project, someone to do the website, a place to print, a photographer for the project, someone to make the tickets or someone to shoot the promo.
They combined their experience and studies in photography, graphic design, film, music and print work to invent a one-stop-shop for any personal or professional occasion. The diverse catalog functions across many platforms, including photography for events, flyers, music or promotional videos, music production and much more. Now, established, 2nd Shooter expertly melds the creative touch and skill behind the camera that is sure to capture moments that will stand the test of time.
The Shooters
Chep Woods is a multi-faceted artist; writer, rapper, photographer, graphic designer and is one half of 2nd Shooter Media. The Chicago native recalls art being a major staple in his life for as long as he can remember. “I loved coloring books as a child… I was drawing cartoons by the time I was 12.” Chep knew at a young age that he wanted to spend his time creating.
Chep became more interested in music at age 15. He met his future wife in high school in art class. He set foot on stage for the first time in 2008. It was also around this time he met future co-creator O. By the end of 2015, he was ready to take his talent to the next level. He would later go on to release an independent EP; performing all over Chicago's indie music scene between 2015 and 2016. He eventually started getting into graphic design as a means to create artwork for his music covers.
“I figured I could just do it myself.” Woods commented.
He entered the world of digital photo manipulation and became heavy into programs like Photoshop and other image software. What started as simply wanting to know how to design hip-hop covers for himself turned into a full fledged business. After other artists made serious inquiries about his abilities, Chep - in true artist fashion - took the time to perfect his techniques and produce pieces he and his clients could be proud of. He did not stop there. He officially added professional photography and filmography to his repertoire after purchasing a professional camera, lighting, and other equipment. now he has diversified his craft and caters to families of all ethnicities and professionals of any industry.
Prophit
Prophit is a videographer/musician from the south side of Chicago. Raised in a variety of foster homes, he picked up a camera very young to keep the memories of everywhere he lived. By the age of 12, he had a camera with him almost everywhere he went. This sparked his love for the art. By high school he chose the film concentration and this helped cultivate his budding talent.
While studying marketing at EIU, he met Chep Woods. Both were musicians who had a real passion for art. After writing, recording, and performing music together for years, it was only destiny that they built something together. In 2017 Second Shooter was born. Clean, professional photography mixed with clean, sharp angled, gritty videography in a quest to spark social change and restore morality in art. As well as all the fun that comes with living the dream. Prophit realized early on that media and art influence life in every aspect. His aim has always been to make a positive imprint through music and visual media. This goal Is the common ground that Chep and Prophit stand on to create quality and impactful media.
